Information Office Clippings Digest -
Developed scanning, storage and retrieval system for daily
newspaper clippings using Adobe Acrobat and Active Server Pages.
Expected volume: in excess of 15,000 pieces/year.
Intranet site consists of several search utilities, including
advanced queries employing the MS Index Server with the Acrobat
PDF IFilter plug-in. Perl batch utilities were also provided
to assist in the administration of .pdf files.
Office of General Counsel -
Wrote a death row inmate tracking system for the Governor’s legal
office using Microsoft Access. The multi-user application stores
all the legal developments of a case and their status, keeps a full
audit trail of every change made to the database, alerts users
of impending events or deadlines, tracks counsel and other associated
parties and how they relate to the case, and allows for detailed
note-taking as events occur up to the minute.
Leave Tracking Application -
Developed a web-based intranet application using ASP for the PA House
of Representatives to keep track of leave time
available to each employee and allow their timekeepers to
record when that leave time is used. Application is built to
accomodate a number of different roles: employees have a
read-only view to check their leave time usage, timekeepers
can enter leave time taken, supervisors can monitor what their
subordinates are doing, and members of the Personnel Department can
check and approve submitted time. The application also includes
a number of SQL Server procedure-generated reports, and the
ability for Personnel to bestow accrued leave time to all employees
all at once using a rule-based system.
St. Alphonsus Hospital
Developed electronic medical record using PowerBuilder 5.0 and
PFC using a Sybase DBMS. Custom-built a business-specific
class library from PFC to serve as a foundation for future
development.
Merrill Lynch & Co.
Built a report-generation system for Merrill Lynch using
PowerBuilder 4.0, Sybase DBMS, Erwin/ERX 2.1 database modeling
tools, Excel ODBC & VBA macro language, and financial information
gathered from Sungard data service. Also provided user support
and software troubleshooting for pre-existing Excel macros.
